DIAGNOSTICS

Could an undiagnosed illness or injury be plaguing your pet?

When people get sick or hurt, they go to the doctor, describe their symptoms and receive the appropriate care. With pets, however, it’s not always this straightforward. Because animals can’t speak, they’re unable to tell us when something is bothering them.

What’s more, many animals are very good at hiding the signs of illness, allowing it to develop and worsen undetected.

Veterinary diagnostics enable us to identify and treat health concerns in a timely manner. Faster diagnosis of illness and injury can dramatically improve the chances of a positive outcome.

Laboratory

Animal Care of Oradell’s on-site diagnostic laboratory makes it fast and efficient to run a wide variety of tests. In many cases, we can have results in mere minutes. This means we can have a treatment strategy in place before you and your pet even leave the exam room.

Imaging

When a physical exam and lab work aren’t enough to reach a diagnosis, we rely on advanced imaging technology, such as x-rays and ultrasound. These tools allow us to evaluate the bones and internal organs, identifying injuries, diagnosing illness and determining its severity.

Digital images can be analyzed by our doctors in real-time or shared electronically with specialists if necessary.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound imaging technology provides our doctors with a non-invasive way to examine the inside of your pet’s body and diagnose potential health concerns. It is a safe and painless process, and produces highly-accurate images that enable us to evaluate how your companion’s body is functioning. Some of the many conditions ultrasound can be used to assess and diagnose include:

  • Heart disease
  • Tumors
  • Bladder and/or kidney stones
  • Diseases of the organs (liver, kidney, gall bladder, etc.)
  • Gastrointestinal concerns

If your pet has been acting a bit out of sorts lately, don’t take any chances. Give the caring crew at Animal Care of Oradell a call right away. We’ll get to the bottom of the problem and get your best friend back on the path to good health again.
